ABOUT THE DESIGN
In Galileo’s lifetime the Church insisted that the earth (not the sun) was the center of the solar system. The quotation arrises from the extensive persecution Galileo received as a firm supporter of Copurnicus (the originator of a corrected theory). Galileo was also one of the first to employ the telescope to perform observational astronomy rather than to rely dogma and popular belief.
