Our Barbara McClintock illustrates the life-long career of this pioneer of genetic research who chose the humble corn (or maize) plant to develop rewarding new techniques in crop engineering. The background shows a field of her favored species and the foreground shows the student at her microscope holding an ear of the amazing seeds. Her quotation is self explanatory.
